We enjoy the assurance that God will never forsake us. But Jesus experienced a separation from the Father so that we are fully reconciled in relationship with God. Jesus did not cease being God. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Jesus also spoke about His eternal deity: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (Revelation 22:13). At no time has Jesus ever ceased to be God. God never changes and neither does the Holy Spirit or God the Son.
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
God accepted the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross as the sufficient payment for our sins. We are free to be who He created us to be without fear of the penalty of sin because Jesus finished the work of atonement on the cross!
