Board Members

Nancy Fitzgerald, Executive Director

Nancy grew up in Michigan but was educated at Indiana University. She graduated with a BS in Education and two Masters of Science/Health and Special Education degrees. She has taught at the high school and college level. Nancy is the founder and executive director of Anchors Away, Inc. Anchorsaway is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to teach biblical worldview to high school juniors, seniors and college students. Being an atheist with a strong distrust of Christians and Christianity, she was challenged to do her own research into the claims of Christ. Not only did she find them verifiable but also transformational. From her research, she wrote and taught classes of 115 students for 15 years in her home. With the encouragement of Chuck Colson, Nancy decided to publish the Anchorsaway curriculum (2006) with the hope of educating and motivating students to become strong Christian leaders who live and speak hope into a broken world. The goal is that students would better understand who they are, who God is and how to make a significant difference in culture by the way they live and love others. The Anchorsaway curriculum is currently being taught in all 50 states and in 14 countries and is now offered as a college course. Ed Ingle, Chairman

Edward “Ed” Ingle is an educational administrator with nearly two decades of administrative experience in K-12 private Christian education. He serves as the CEO of Central Christian Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana. He holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Christian Studies, and has completed graduate-level coursework focused on organizational leadership.

Steve Hocker, Vice Chairman

Steve is a highly skilled pastoral counselor, communicator, and creative contributor who leverages interpersonal relationships and mass media to bring the hope of Christ to a hurting world. Steve is best known for co-hosting “Mornings with Kelli and Steve,” which was heard weekdays on Moody Radio. He founded Compass Point Biblical Counseling, a ministry that provides emotional, relational and spiritual care through biblical counselors.

Kelly Stees, Ministry Advisor

Kelly is well educated in biblical worldview. She holds a doctorate and is a pediatric anesthesiologist, practicing with her group in Denver, Colorado. She is a mother of three children who is extremely involved in her children’s schools as a volunteer when her schedule permits. She is gifted in leadership within her medical group.
