Here is what others are saying about their Anchorsaway experience

“It’s tragic so many young people are leaving the church—Unanswered is one of the most unique and honest approaches to understanding this.”

Doug Fields
Author + Speaker

“Nancy Fitzgerald and Anchorsaway are doing a fabulous job teaching young people how to defend and live out their faith. That is a mission field, and should be our number one mission field, because we are discovering that young men and women who come out of youth groups, good families and churches are losing their faith when they get on the college campuses.”

Charles Colson
Author and Founder of Prison Fellowship

“With all that is taking place in our culture today, there is a clear call for Christians to speak and live out the truth of the biblical worldview in the public square. In the curriculum series ‘Unanswered: Smoke, Mirrors and God,’ Nancy Fitzgerald has provided an excellent tool for Christians to better understand their faith and to articulate it to others. This will not only help believers build a stronger foundation of truth, but it will give them confidence in proclaiming Christ to the world. I wholeheartedly endorse “Unanswered” and encourage all Christians and Churches to use it.”

John Stonestreet
President, Colson Center for Biblical Worldview

“In the battle being waged for the hearts and minds of young people today, it is essential that they be grounded in their faith and learn to ‘think Christianly.’ Anchorsaway is one of the best programs I’ve seen that not only equips students to understand our times, but also to impact our culture through the Biblical Christian worldview.”

Dr. David A. Noebel
President, Summit Ministries

“I can’t tell you how thrilled I am about the Anchorsaway ministry. It proves that everyday adults can teach a worldview class in their home that keeps kids on the edge of their seats. I’ve been teaching worldviews and developing worldview curriculum for 15 years, but I’ve never seen anything like Anchorsaway for having a life-on-life impact on young people. I can’t wait for the opportunity to host an Anchorsaway group in my own home.”

Jeff Myers, Ph.D.
President, Summit Ministries

“As president of Crossroads Bible College and an international speaker I have a growing concern that the very foundation of our Christian faith is being undermined. Throughout the US, but especially in our urban communities, lives and families are rapidly disintegrating. What can be done to turn the tide toward wholesome living that values life and righteousness?

I firmly believe that the future of Christianity resides in the lives of today’s youth. Movies, music, political action and many within the protestant church are biblical absolutes and character. We need as many collective voices as we can gather to expose error, clarify truth and encourage biblical character. Anchorsaway is a timely tool to assist in presenting a contemporary reasoned case for biblical Christianity.

Anchorsaway uses current media to illustrate the worldviews that are effectively undermining biblical thinking. The biblical worldview is explained from creation to our eternal existent in the new heavens and earth. The biblical worldview is applied to current issues and thinking. The solid biblical reasoning combined with current practical application make the Anchorsaway materials a must for any serious thinking young person.

At Crossroads Bible College we believe so strongly in the Anchorsaway materials that we have selected these materials as the core content for a three hour accredited college course. I strongly encourage anyone working with youth to use this timely material.”

Dr. A. Charles Ware
Former President, Crossroads Bible College

“I can say that as a parent, as an educator, as a professional scientist, and as a committed Christian, that Anchorsaway is the finest program I know of for preparing young people for heading out into a world that is often hostile to the Christian worldview. Nancy Fitzgerald has put together a curriculum that lets high schoolers grapple with crucial issues in a safe environment. They get the chance to make the Christian views they have grown up with to be their very own, and they are equipped to defend their faith in the face of unbelief. I now have had two children ‘graduate’ Anchorsaway, and our third is eager to go next year. I just wish that all high school seniors would have the chance to go through Anchorsaway before they head off to college or into the world of work.”

James C. Williams, Jr., Ph.D.
Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Indiana University School of Medicine

“I taught Anchorsaway to our senior Bible class this year. As a high school Bible teacher at a small Christian school, I wanted a curriculum that would engage our students and expand their understanding of a Christian worldview. Anchorsaway did both of those things extraordinarily well. The depth and breadth of the topics (called “anchors”) is impressive.

Students were able to engage in deep discussions on timely topics in a safe, Christ-centered atmosphere. They learned to disagree agreeably and defend their faith respectfully. Anchorsaway’s commitment to share the Gospel with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15) is among the aspects I appreciate most about the curriculum.

If you are looking for a high school worldview curriculum, Anchorsaway is an excellent choice.”

Amy K.
High School Teacher

“Anchorsaway prepared my son to have a voice in the face of his atheist professor. A teen’s parent called their youth pastor to say that students in her son’s class at college were ridiculed if they professed belief in God. This teen actually offered to share his Anchorsaway book with the professor.”

Youth Ministry Worker

“Today’s youth are bombarded with choices about all kinds of things, the most important being their faith. Do they believe in Jesus Christ? The Trinity? Is there absolute truth? Is the Bible inspired by God and without errors? Can they defend what they believe? These questions and many more are answered through the ministry of Anchorsaway. God has utilized this ministry and its remarkable founder, Nancy Fitzgerald, to have a profound impact on our youth. As a teammate who is also in youth ministry, I would strongly recommend the Anchorsaway ministry.”

Brad Long
Central Indiana Area Director, Fellowship of Christian Athletes

“I believe that Anchorsaway is a perfect way for a Campus Life teen to end their high school years. It caps off and affirms all that I’ve been hoping to instill in my teens in an interesting, interactive and concise way. Anchorsaway is becoming a Campus Life “rite of passage” here in La Porte, IN.”

Director, Youth for Christ Campus Life, La Porte, IN

“In late August, we took our daughter to college for her freshman year. She is attending a private liberal arts college in the Midwest where we knew her views and beliefs would be challenged. One of her classes this fall is a religion course, taught by a Muslim professor. As part of the curriculum, he brought in an expert on faith stories and encouraged each person to share their own story. Well, our daughter did just that and the floodgates opened up. The professor was honoring to her, but many of the students began to fire questions at her – the typical things that people like to throw out. I thank God for how she handled it.

She’s been through the Anchorsaway class a few times and has shared elements of it as a summer camp staff member and as a small group leader at our church, so she was prepared. She was able to confidently respond to their questions and do it with gentleness and respect. Let me tell you that it is much easier to share your faith with gentleness and respect when you feel confident about what you’re saying! At any rate, they were to continue the discussion and sharing in small groups during class. Two students in her group shared their experiences, one who grew up in the church but didn’t see how it connected to him, and the other who had had five classmates commit suicide during her last two years of high school. They asked her more questions and she told them about her Anchorsaway book. The three of them decided to gather together outside of class to explore it more. She brings her Anchorsaway material.”

Greg Anderson
Director, Inspiration Point Christian Camp and Retreat Center

“We’ve been using Anchorsaway in a small group setting with our upperclassmen and it’s been great. In my search for materials to take my students to the next level, I have never found a package so effective as Anchorsaway. Not only has it prepared them to answer tough questions in college but the discussion-oriented curriculum has brought out misconceptions in my students that I didn’t realize they had bought into. Thank you for this amazing tool!”

“I see Anchorsaway and Cru locking arms as a powerful instrument in God’s hand to lay a foundation in young people’s lives that will last a lifetime and withstand the challenges of the 21st century.”

Bill Kollar
National Director of Leadership Development, Cru

“I love Anchorsaway because it has given another opportunity to connect with students in an environment where time is used very intentionally. Students come and aren’t there to play games or be entertained. They are there to dig into topics that will help them put shape to their worldview because they know they are headed to college and they want to be equipped to stand strong in their faith when they take that next step. Anchorsaway lets me help equip students in a way that is very practical to have in my schedule because all of the work, teaching, and curriculum is already done. I just need to show up, love students, and process things with them during small groups.”

Radical activists have understood for decades that the way to transform America into something more secular and more liberal like Europe is to indoctrinate young people with their ideas. I could spiritualize this to include that there is also a spiritual war for the hearts and minds of children.

I hope that most parents, grandparents and church leaders know the statistical finding that up to 80% of young people “raised” in church today will leave their faith when they go off to college. In fact, movies such as God’s Not Dead and numerous books have been written on this problem. It seems as though many young people are not prepared to embrace and defend their faith in a post-Christian society that is increasingly hostile to their values and beliefs.

Many parents, myself included, worry about how to help their children understand that the Christian worldview is logical, entirely defensible, and long held by millions including iconic leaders in academia, medicine, science, law, business, politics and other fields throughout history.

One way that parents and church leaders can help youth in the principles of faith is the Indiana-based Anchors Away program. Anchors Away is a program designed to help youth embrace their faith and to effectively communicate it to this generation. Endorsed by the late Charles Colson, author John Stonestreet, and many great apologetics leaders, Anchors Away is a proven success for high school students entering college.

Testimonies from former students

“At Anchorsaway the truths of Scripture were clearly presented to me for the first time. The lectures and notes provided the direction I needed to study the Bible and come to the life-saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Anchorsaway helped me to solidify my faith and learn how to defend my beliefs. It also gave me the answers to questions I had been asking all of my life. When I went to college I was on fire for Christ and excited to share my faith. Because of my education at Anchorsaway, I also had the confidence to defend my faith at a very secular University.”

Alyssa

“One thing that I truly learned through Anchorsaway is to trust God in all aspects of life. No matter what you have planned for your future, get ready for God to interrupt your plans to show you His. God will always find a way to lead you to the people that He wants you to impact. Whether you are on stage or behind the scenes, all of God’s people work together to bring the lost souls to Christ.”

Jason

“By far, the biggest strength of Anchorsaway is the community of honest, authentic, truth-seekers that together ask hard questions and determine to find the answers…Everything that you hear will wake up your faith. Everything that you hear will jolt you into deeper communion with God. Because everything you hear is revolutionary. The gospel is revolutionary. Since the very beginning, a relationship with God has meant radical life transformation. Anchorsaway does this. It changes lives. Are you ready for yours to be changed too?”

Kristen

“Any question could be asked fearlessly and every question would be answered and was delivered promptly that night or the following week after engaging in extensive search…Every subject matter was touched on with in-depth well researched and historically documented detail. Whether it be cults, homosexuality, creation, for every topic, I remember very clearly that there was someone with total credibility in each lesson who would share their testimony and life experience and every lesson was like an opening floodgate of answers and knowledge rushing in at me and the more I experienced the more I became excited and empowered. I looked forward to every Sunday and I was exceedingly refreshed by the end of every session after spending time revisiting people that I respect very much and meeting new people as well. God used Anchorsaway in my life by showing me that when you seek, you truly will find. There was no persuasion involved, no flattery, no manipulation, no facades, solely hold up of the facts.”

Rocky

“The Anchorsaway curriculum played such an important role in challenging me to grow in my relationship with God and helped answer so many questions about any doubt that managed to sneak its way into my being over the years…I thank God for Anchorsaway!”
