A Note From Nancy…Spring is bursting on the scene in Indiana. Flowers are poking their heads out of the dirt, and the trees are getting ready to bloom making walkers, bikers, and golfers very happy people. I have often thought that Spring is a time when God shows his nature through his creative beauty and promise of new life.
God opened the curtains in His book to us with a giant crescendo proclaiming, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” He spoke, and life came to be. Profoundly simple profoundly beautiful. Knowing that our God is the creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, sovereign over all things, faithful and yet personal fills us with awe.
Yet, for many of us, the Creation/Evolution issue causes much confusion among believing Christians. Many of us were taught in schools that if you are intelligent, then you will believe in evolution. Questions to the contrary were not allowed. Evolution is not only disruptive to the minds and hearts of adults, but also to young men and women who believe in the truth of the Bible. Many are chastised by teachers and professors, some of whom are Christians, for not believing in evolution. Most Christian colleges and almost all of secular colleges teach, at best, that life began with God who then, through a series of random evolutionary events, became living creatures. This is the theory of theistic evolution. Is there scientific proof that the Bible is true when it supports God’s claim that He is the creator of all things? Yes there is.
Every year when we teach the Anchorsaway lesson on creation, our students are amazed that there is a plethora of scientific proof for creation. Pure science, without bias/presuppositions, proves beyond a reasonable doubt, that God did, in fact, create the universe and all who dwell in it.
Where do you get your information, you ask? The following are some sources and video links that you can watch yourself and hopefully with your families. We are not telling you what you have to believe. We are giving you information that we believe you would like to see because many of you have not been given the information needed to make an educated decision.
